André comes to Amii from the University of Alberta, where he served as a Postdoctoral Fellow, researching synthetic data generation with Scotiabank. His research areas of interest include explainable AI, causality, and deep learning. He was also a Lecture at the University of Regina’s Computer Science department.
André earned his M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Computer Science at the University of Regina and his Undergrad in Industrial Engineering in Brazil. In his free time, he is a cartoonist, plays the ukulele, and practices Japanese jiu-jitsu.
